CAMERON KIRKCONNEL'S TRIP TO NICARAGUA
Well, Nicaragua proved to be one of the most remote and third world places I have every been to but the people, waves and diving were excellent. I was able to hook up with a guy that lives in a small town on the pacific side and we headed out early one morning to some rocks that were a few hundred yards offshore. The visibilty up and down the coast has been really murky lately but on this day we could see 30 ft and had lots of bait and activity. Within the first hour, Richard and I had both landed Rooster fish of 30 lbs as well as some mackerel and reef fish. Holding out for a big one I stayed on the outskirts of the schools of Blue Runners and managed to stone my second and third Roosterfish which were 40 and 50 lbs. I was hoping for bluewater and some billfish but I am more than happy to have landed these 3 beautiful fish and can't wait to get back down there to go for them again.
